Please note that, due to the Covid-19 crisis, all LAMDA tutorials are being delivered online, via FaceTime, Skype or Zoom. Thank you.
I offer private tuition & coaching for LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) ‘Acting’, ‘Speaking In Public’, ‘Reading For Performance’, and ‘The Speaking of Verse and Prose’ examinations. Private tuition is available in the areas of Twickenham, Teddington, Richmond, and Hampton.
I have a few spaces available from May 2020 for new exam students. Whether you or your child are new to these exams, or experienced and wish to take an advanced grade, get in touch with Jacquie on 07956 441481 or email me for a free consultation.
What are LAMDA exams?
LAMDA is the largest Speech and Drama awarding body in the UK, and their Graded Examinations are accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority. There are exams for all age groups/levels. Level 3 examinations are recognized in the University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) points system to support university applications.
I personally think these exams are great. The guidelines are clear whilst also allowing lots of creativity. It’s an opportunity to receive a recognized record of achievement and is not as daunting as it first appears! Feedback from candidates and parents is very positive – including how friendly and welcoming the staff are before, and after, the exam.
Lamda Tuition Success Rate
My students, over the last 16 years, have received excellent results: with a 100% pass rate, and the majority achieving Distinction or Merit (including those taking Advanced Grades). Parents of candidates receiving LAMDA tuition have commented on how positive the experience was for their child, and how their self-esteem has benefitted enormously. It really does boost their self-confidence. If you would like to know more please call Jacquie on 07956 441481 or email me with any questions.
“Jacquie is an experienced, inspiring teacher with a fantastic attitude and positivity that lights the room as soon as she comes in. She is excellent at matching the student with the pieces they perform and helping them to execute them to the best of their abilities, in addition to building that inner confidence invaluable in later life. She is passionate and energetic and passes this on to her students, whether they are engaged in vocal exercises, character analysis or acting. Jacquie’s lessons have been a source of enormous enjoyment for my daughter Denise who has been practicing Drama with Jacquie from Year 6 to Year 11. Narmina, Twickenham.
“LAMDA tutorials with Jacquie have helped both my daughters immensely with their confidence and acting technique. Jacquie is a very patient and knowledgeable teacher, not to mention professional. She was able to guide us through the whole process of the LAMDA examinations – and made every session fun and enjoyable.” R Sharma, Whitton.
“My 16-year-old son is currently preparing for his 4th LAMDA exam with Jacquie. He continues to be enthused by Jacquie’s passion to teach him to be the best he possibly can be and always finishes his tutorials on a “drama high”! He has gained so much on so many fronts from the process. Jacquie’s understanding of his abilities has enabled him to pass his exams with flying colours.” Marie-Louise, Hampton
“My daughter has been training for the LAMDA exams in Public Speaking with Jacquie and has progressed from strength to strength. Jacquie has been absolutely amazing in her dedication and commitment to excellence.” Sudha, Twickenham.
Students would need to have approximately 6 to 12 tutorials (depending on the grade/age). They can enter singly, or (in the case of ‘Acting Duologues’), in pairs. Current charges are £35 per one-hour tutorial. Tutorials are held either at my, or (for a small extra charge) the student’s house. In addition to LAMDA tuition, I offer private tuition for auditions, public speaking, or voice/speech development, for both children and adults.
